Photographing in the studio or on location for your own portfolio is one thing – but if you are now photographing for a complete calendar glossy production, that is something completely different. From the setting of the light to the make – up, from the location to the outfit, to the equipment, everything is crucial and must fit perfectly! We would rather have photographed some subjects in landscape format, which unfortunately did not allow the portrait format of the calendar. Also such things are to be considered in this production.
We were with the whole team in different hotels, rental studios and cities on the road to produce the calendar with Verena Stangl – easier said than done. Behind all the final photos and videos is a lot of effort and time behind it.
It was not photographed with a usual camera, but with a medium format camera from PhaseOne with 60 megapixels to capture even the smallest detail. All pictures can be done just as well with any DSLR. We just wanted to get the best possible quality for the print.
