Maybe you wanted to show off a cool illustration you did on your iPad, or maybe you wanted to record the process of creating a cool new beat on your laptop. Screens are such an essential part of our lives, but often when we record them, they end up being too bright or washed out. This class is here to help you change that. I have been filming iPad tutorials for my sister Di Ujdi for over four years, and in that time, I learned many tricks for making a perfect Top-down iPad shot, and I wanted to distill all that knowledge into a single class.
In this class you’ll learn the following:
- Best lighting techniques for lighting shots that involve screens
- How to avoid reflections on your screens
- How to use the manual exposure mode in your camera to perfectly match the screen to your scene
This is an intermediate class, so you need some knowledge of how to operate a camera. But for beginners, I included a simple guide to manual exposure to get you started.
A camera that supports spot metering mode is preferred, but not essential.
If you’re creating iPad tutorials, or ever need to record anything involving a screen, this is a class for you. After taking it, you’re going to be able to tackle any scene with screens effortlessly and confidently.
